Patricia J. Bindenagel, 95, of Roscoe passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019. Born October 17, 1923, in Huron, SD, the daughter of George and Goldie (Frazier) Williams. Attended elementary school in a one room schoolhouse in Beadle County, SD. Graduated high school in Huron, SD, Class of 1941, and Huron Business College, before moving to California. She married Gordon D. Bindenagel on April 15, 1943, in Long Beach, CA. Formerly employed by Bell Telephone Company in California. They returned to Huron, SD, when Gordon was drafted into the Army. This is where she was employed by Montgomery Ward & Company and Sears Roebuck & Company. Sears transferred her to the Rockford, IL, store in 1966, where she retired in 1985. Member of Willow Creek Presbyterian Church in Caledonia, IL, where she served as a deacon, and member of the Friendship Circle and Martha Ruth Circle. Member of the World Organization of China Painters of Rockford and Businesswomen of Rockford. She enjoyed playing golf with the Atwood Golf League. Pat loved spending time with family, reading, china painting, gardening and puzzles. She especially enjoyed her walking groups and breakfast meetings. Survivors include her children, Claudia Crabb of Beloit, WI, J.D. (Jean) Bindenagel of Germany, Denise (Michael) Sorensen of Hudson, WI, Curt (Lora) Bindenagel of Winnebago and Nancy (Johnny) Keen of Roscoe; daughter-in-law, Pam Bindenagel of Indiana; grandchildren, Larry Simons, Wendy Johnson, Becky (Randy) Smith, Shelly (Kurt) Schmidt, Delvin (Kelly) Crabb, Perry Crabb, Justin (Michelle) Bindenagel, Andre Bindenagel, Nicolas (Carolina) Bindenagel, Danielle (Brad) Felvey, Annamarie (Kenan) Sehovic, Carl Bindenagel, Jason (Samantha) Dupont, Amy (Ryan) McCune, Christopher Sorensen, Sean (Lori) Bindenagel, Joel Bindenagel, Scott (Kayla) Keen and Dillon (Maria) Keen; 37 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; numerus nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; husband; son, Steven; sisters, Edith Jensen, Carol Miedema; and brothers, Donald Williams and Ted Williams.
Memorial service at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019, in Willow Creek Presbyterian Church, 7300 Belvidere Road, Caledonia. As per her wishes, her body was donated to science. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., of Loves Park.
