Pamela Sharp

September 3, 1957 — July 21, 2019

Pamela (Purifoy) Sharp, 61, of Loves Park, IL, departed this earthly life on Sunday, July 21, 2019, in Rockford, IL. Born September 3, 1957, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Enry and Trudell (Hicks) Purifoy. Pamela returned to school at Harlem High School and finished her education in adult classes. She then took college classes and became a dental assistant. Pamela worked at Macy’s department store, was a foster parent, volunteered for CASA, and later started her own day care business. She was a very active person and for a hobby she enjoyed being a cheerleading coach and modeling. Pamela is a former member of New Fellowship Baptist Church, later on she became a member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. In 2018, her health had started to fail her, but she would attend church services when she was able. Pamela rededicated her life back to Christ and was baptized again under Pastor Seal’s leadership. Pamela had a kind, giving and loving spirit; loved her children, grandchildren, and family. She will be greatly missed. She leaves to cherish her fun-loving memories; a daughter, LaTascha Sharp; granddaughter, Malania Sharp; daughter, LaToyya Anderson; grandchildren, Lanya and Davion Anderson; son, Jeremiah Sharp, all of Rockford, IL; half-brother, Darrell Turner; half-sister, Unique Sharp; sisters, Judith (Rev. Edward Sr.) Seals, Candance Billberry, Ada (Don) Malone and Brenda Purifoy, all of Rockford, IL; brothers, Randy Purifoy of Little Rock, AK, Wayne Purifoy of Rockford, IL, and Robert (Tabatha) Purifoy of Detroit, MI; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Enry and Trudell (Hicks) Purifoy; brothers, Claude Furguson and Roger Purifoy; sister, Bridget Purifoy; nephews, Tyrone Perkins Purifoy, Zavar Malone Purifoy and Tavarous Woodlock Purifoy; and niece, Yolanda Billberry.

Service at noon Saturday, August 3, 2019, in St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 2919 19th Street, Rockford. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
