Neva Lois Fibrow, age 90, of Loves Park, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Lincolnshire Place, Loves Park, surrounded by her loving family, following a brave battle with Alzheimer’s. Born January 19, 1927, in Rose Hill, the daughter of Charles Cleveland and Bettie (Williams) Spraggins.  After graduation from high school, Neva moved to Rockford and began working at Roper where she met the love of her life, Herman “Bud” J. Neva had an incredible work ethic. She loved to bake, cook and clean.  She was your all around homemaker.  Although she lost Bud to cancer in October 1992, she continued doing the things they enjoyed together.  Traveling, camping and dancing.  Her travels even found her driving to Alaska with her cousins.  She was a winter visitor in Harlingen, Texas, where she was a proud member of the Neva Club, Lois Club and Rockford Club.  As a member of the Vagabonds, she enjoyed camping.  She was a proud mother of three and grandmother to ten.  She loved to visit them and socialize with all the family and friends in her life.  Loving interaction with people, she was a Beauty Counselor representative selling and delivering products to her many faithful clients, many of whom would call her with orders long after she retired.  She worked at Smith Oil a few years before working for Blue Cross/Blue Shield from where she retired.  Neva was a long time member of Court Street United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Dorcas Circle.

Survived by her children, Norman (Lyn) Fibrow of Machesney Park, Dewayne (Carole) Fibrow of Blythe, CA, and Chris (Dave) Kohlhagen of St. Charles; 10 grandchildren, Jill (Randy) Hecker, Lindsey Kinison, Dana (Scott) Stichter, Angela (Coy) Bradstreet, Andy (Marcy) Fibrow, Mike (Kady) Fibrow, Nick (Stephanie) Kohlhagen, Steve (Erin) Kohlhagen, Dan (Jackie) Kohlhagen and Phil Kohlhagen; 16 great-grandchildren, Mila and Mason Hecker, Ella Kinison, Mikki, Megan and Lily Stichter, Drew Cude, Brycelyn and Kallie Bradstreet, Sophia Fibrow, Charlie Fibrow, Luke and Autumn Kohlhagen, Summer Hafiz, Kylie and Grace Kohlhagen; and 2 great-granddaughters due within a month. She is further survived by one sister-in-law, Frieda McQueary; and many loving nieces, nephews and longtime friends.

Preceded in death by her husband; parents; mother and father-in-law, Herman and Alice Fibrow; 3 siblings, Frieda (Maynard) Gough, LaVerne (Sadie) Spraggins and Rogene Spraggins; brothers-in-law, Delbert Hennessey, Wayne McQueary and Luke (Mary) Fibrow.      She will always be remembered for her sweet disposition and her cute little smile.
