Nancy Lou Pohl, 79, of Roscoe, IL, passed away Monday, October 28, 2019, in her home, surrounded by her family. She was born October 19, 1940, in Holcomb, MO, the daughter of Walter and Cordia Isabella (Peters) Craig. She has lived in the Rockford area for more than 50 years, settling here from Casa Grande, AZ. Nancy married Ronald Arthur Pohl on October 29, 1982. Former member of Berean Baptist Church of Rockford and current member of First Baptist Church of Machesney Park. Nancy ran an in-home daycare for more than 40 years and later served on the Ladies Auxiliary at River Bluff Nursing Home as well as several church committees.
Nancy lived her life with passion. She deeply loved the Lord and we rejoice knowing she is now spending eternity in Heaven. She treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. She loved unconditionally and cared deeply for everyone she met. She was always available and often sacrificed in order to provide for others. Nancy had a vivacious personality and was easy to be around. She made life-long friends and enjoyed potlucks, Red Hats, travel and card clubs. She loved being outdoors, gardening, and birdwatching. To know her was to love her.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald; daughters, Becky (Robert) Voll of Machesney Park, Rose Quast of Roscoe, Tammy (Mike) Fenger of Roscoe; stepchildren, Nick (Sandy) Pohl of Wells, KS, Renea (Dan) Drummer of South Beloit, IL; she was blessed with 18 grandchildren, Kevin (Sara) Schulz, Kandi Moore, Kyle (Essie) Moore, Joseph (Maria) Quast, Bobbi (Brian) Brown, Donnie (Brittany) Voll, Courtney Fenger, David (Tisha) Lewis, Allen (Paige) Paris, Sherise (Jon) Shepherd, Wayne Pohl, Aaron Pohl, Josh (Melody) Bach, Danial (Aleighsa) Drummer, Bobbi Stanek, Brandon Diaz, Allie Schaitel and Jena (Logan) Harrup ; 35 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; sister, Peggy Keyes of Rockford; brother, Donnie (Nina) Craig of Freeport, TX. Predeceased by both her parents; her son, Kenneth Moore; grandson, Benjamin Nease; step-grandson, Bradley Diaz; 5 sisters, Martha Irene Denny, Melba Pauline, Edna Harrah, Elsie Juanita Vannassdall and Dortha Lucille Bridges; 2 brothers, Delbert Garland Craig and David Craig.
Please join us in celebrating her life Friday, November 1, funeral service will be held at noon in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Luncheon immediately following services at First Baptist Church, 718 Harlem Road, Machesney Park. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Flowers are being provided by Cherry Blossom Florist, Rockford. Memorials can be made to either Rockford Rescue Mission or Heartland Hospice.
