Nancy C. DeHart, 82, of Loves Park, IL, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at home surrounded by family. Born March 11, 1942, in Harmonsburg, PA, the daughter of Arden and Dorothy (Martin) James. She married Dale M. DeHart on September 3, 1960, in Harmonsburg. Member of Christ United Methodist Church.
Nancy was truly one of a kind with the sweetest heart. She was loved for her silliness and quick wit. She had a love for family and friends that was like no other. She helped make her grandchildren’s childhood one of the most memorable and joyous ones that anyone could ever experience. Her house was the place to be. Summers at the pool, Christmases, Easters, New Year’s Eve parties and Super Bowl parties that provided a lifetime of memories for everyone and a beacon where cousins became best friends. She planted the seeds to grow a tight knit family around her, and she loved her family more than anything. She is now reunited with the love of her life whom she missed so very much.
Nancy is survived by her daughters, Crystal (Mark) Lundvall, Wendy Jancek, and Jan (Steve) Hudgin; grandchildren, Lindsay (Jesse) Hart, Alyssa (Vinny) Ciccio, Jenna (Ben) Weigel, Brett (Alyssa) Parrish, Jarrett Jancek, Derek (Traci) Hudgin, Jeremy (Val Fegan) Hudgin, and Megan (Aireal Boyd) Hudgin; great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Theo, Ezra, Callahan, and Alani; sisters, Janet (Don) Moyer, and Janice (Gerald) Uzarski; sister-in-law, Linda James; several nieces and nephews; lifelong friend, Mary Jo Larson; and special cousin, Heidi Lashock. Predeceased by her parents; husband; and brother, Richard James. The family would like to thank the staff at OSF Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
Memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with memorial visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Cremation rites accorded. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
