Mitchell “Mitch” Gene Rogers, 54, of Rockford passed away Monday, February 15, 2016, after bouts of health issues. Born August 21, 1961, in Rockford, the son of Autry Gene and Virginia Jeanne (Palmeno) Rogers. Mitch, a landscaper by trade owned and worked in his own business, Quality Landscaping. It’s not to be forgotten that his biggest supporters of his landscape work are his aunt Nancy and aunt Leigh. He was proud of his work and was forced to give it up due to health issues and the cold weather of the Midwest. Eventually he and his family moved to Florida and then back to Rockford. Survivors include his children, Seth and Brittany; granddaughter, Bailey; father, Gene; sister, Susan (Tim) Swanberg; uncles, Toby, Nolan and Wayne; his family of cousins from his father’s side, Andi, Kirk, Lori, Gregg, Jason and Jeremy; his family of cousins from his mother’s side, Kim, Kelly, Julie and Mike; special mention of his confidante, Stephanie Rogers, his wife and business partner for many years and the mother of his children. Predeceased by his mother. Mitch adored bull dogs. His beloved pet, Pearl preceded him in death and is buried at Arlington Pet Cemetery in Rockford. His beloved pet, Oscar, survives him.
Service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 23, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
