Mildred Reynolds of Rockford, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
Mildred was born on January 22, 1935, in Marion IL, the daughter of Lester and Nora (Bethel) Moore. She married James Reynolds on December 20, 1954. She dedicated her life building a legacy rooted in love, devotion, and care for those around her. She dedicated part of her career to shaping young minds as a teacher at Grace Academy and also spent many years working at McDonald’s, where she formed lasting connections within her community. Mildred graced this earth for 91 beautiful years, leaving behind a life well lived and a legacy that will continue through all who knew and loved her.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her devoted daughter, Carol (Matthew) Gustafson; her honorary daughter, Sandy Perry; her cherished granddaughter, Shannan (Jeremy) Quitno; her great-granddaughter, Crystal (Robby) Townsend; and her treasured great-great-grandchildren, Camren, Dominick, Maleah, Robyn, A’Lannah, Kehlani, and A’Kai.
She had a joyful spirit and a lifelong love for The Beatles, proudly being part of their fan club. Her faith was the foundation of her life. She shared a deep and personal relationship with Jesus and was a devoted member of her church family, where she found great strength, friendship, and community. Today, we celebrate a life as she is welcomed home to heaven, reunited eternally with her parents, brothers, and her beloved husband, James.
Service at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park, IL.
