Michele "Micki" L. Penington, 81, of Roscoe, IL, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Born March 4, 1944, in Sycamore, IL, the daughter of Donald Masterson and Marcella (Feil) Masterson. Married Freddie “Fred” Penington on May 15, 2004, in Las Vegas, NV. She retired in 2003 after more than 30 years of service with Rockford Powertrain. Micki cherished her children and grandchildren. Her family was the center of her existence, and she was the “glue” that kept everything together. It was expected that you would always celebrate the holidays together. She loved Elvis Presley, snow globes, computer games and gardening. Micki welcomed many people into her heart and home. She had a good story to tell and a smile on her face all the time. Survivors include her husband, Fred; children, Dana (Michael) Vlasnik, Darin (Christine) Dobzynski, Christopher (Barbara) Doyle, Crystal (Thomas) Noble and Brian (Tonya) Penington; grandchildren, Samantha (Karam), Kyle, Emily, Kaitlyn, Blake, Marlee, Brooklyn, Allison, Trinity, Cian, Stella, Kylee and Bailey; great-grandchildren, Lilliana, Zayn, Jonathan, Alia, Ceasar and Dean; siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews; bonus daughter, Denise (Jeff) Dunn; and the “Doyle Boys” deserve special mention. Predeceased by her parents; and a sister, Kathie.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Nobles', 1802 Lorimar Drive, Durand IL, 61024. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL.
