Michael “Mike” James Murphy, 72, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Loyola University Medical Center, Chicago, IL. Born March 17, 1950, in Rockford, IL, the son of William F. and Lois M. (Campbell) Murphy. Married Loraine Torres on May 15, 2004, at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Loves Park, IL. Employed by Anderson Packaging. Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Loraine; daughters, Candy Knepper and Rachel Deiter-Horton; grandchildren, Domenic Torres and Caden Horton; siblings, Terry (Ferd) Mossberg, Timothy (Judy) Murphy, and Amy (Mike) Easton; brother-in-law, Stephen Torres; sister-in-law, Lisa Torres; aunt and uncle-in-law, Vicky and John Lopez; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; and brothers-in-law, Mark Torres and Tom Torres.

Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2022, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to service time. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago, IL. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Bridget Catholic Church.
