SOUTH BELOIT - Melvin D. "Mac" McCauley, 71, of South Beloit died at 8:01 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002, in his residence. Born Oct. 23, 1930, in Richland Center, Wis., son of Byron and Edna (Shireman) McCauley. Married Martha LaQue on Jan 1, 1949; she died April 23, 1987. Married Millie Lind on June 15, 1990, in Rockford. Employed by Rockford Powertrain, retiring in 1992. Worked part-time for Beloit Cub Foods, Roscoe Tool, and owned a lawn mowing service. He was an avid fisherman and Green Bay Packer fan. Survivors include wife, Millie; daughters, Debby (Jim) Shultz of Machesney Park and Dolly (David) Gunderson of South Beloit; son, Mac (Darcee) McCauley of Roscoe; grandchildren, Tom, Dan, Mac Jr., Jennifer, Ryan, Jamie, Jake, Lauren, Zach, Brent, Chad and Eric; great-grandchildren, Adam, Kaitlin and Bradley; stepchildren, Linda (Dan) Udelhofen of Caledonia, Debbie (Mitch) Braude of Richfield, Ohio, and Gary Severide of Blue Mound, Wis.; brother, Granville (Ardythe) of Viola, Wis., and Vic (Lois) of Caledonia and Elmer (Angie) of Viola; sisters, Marlene (Milt) Truesdale of Durand and Katie (Dave) Crouch of Morton; many nieces and nephews; beloved puppy, Pepsi; and brothers-in-law, George Parson of Durand and George Henderson of Loves Park. Predeceased by parents; a son; twin boys; and sisters, Nellie Parson and Letha Henderson.
 
 Services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, in Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with the Rev. Tommy Simpson officiating. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Northern Illinois Hospice.
