Maurice Porter

Maurice E. Porter, 71, of Machesney Park passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021, in Javon Bea Hospital.  Born May 1, 1949, in Janesville, Wisconsin, the son of Dale and June (Hirt) Porter.  Married Karen S. Douglas on March 30, 1973.  Employed by Warner Lambert as a mechanic for over 30 years.  Maurice loved working as a mechanic and working on cars.  He was an avid reader, especially of unusual facts and military history.  Maurice had a great sense of humor.  He loved telling jokes, especially dirty jokes and “Dad” jokes, and loved picking out funny cards for his family.  Survivors include his wife, Karen; sons, Christopher and Randall; sister, Nancy (Mike) Bishop; and nephews, Jason and Robert.  Predeceased by his parents; parents-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.

Private family services were held.  Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Heart Association.
