Matthew Tipton

Matthew D. Tipton, of Machesney Park, passed away Thursday, April 26th, 2018. Born July 24, 1994, the son of Harold Tipton and Jennifer (Spriggs) Beyer. Matthew was a member of Grace Lutheran Church as well as a practicing member of the Native American Church. He was proud of his Native heritage and loved hunting, Pow-Wow, and native crafting. Matthew trained in Muay Thai kickboxing at the Dixon Muay Thai Academy and competed in several regional promotions. He also loved trying different craft beers and going on brewery tours. Survivors include mother and father; stepfather, Brian; brother, Rusty Tipton; sister, Mindy Tipton; nephew, Richie Lovings; grandmothers, Rita Tipton and Carol Spriggs; special cousin, Nathan Tipton; close friend, Mike Jones; aunts and uncles, Maria (Pat Olson) Smith, Les (Sophie) Tipton, Sherman (Michelle) Tipton, Raven, Charlotte Tipton, Connie (Al) Schonberg, Becky Spriggs, Gordon (Shannon) Spriggs; cousins, Michael, Maynard, Buster, Chrissy, Amanda, Duane Schonberg, Jacob Schonberg, Danny Spriggs, Ali Spriggs, Kenner Spriggs, Linda Goodwin, Robert White, and Ivan White. Predeceased by grandfathers, Maynard Tipton and Donny Spriggs.

Service at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 1st, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Ln., Loves Park. Native American service immediately following. Visitation from 11 a.m. to service time.
