Matthew Keefe, Sr.

Matthew Sutcliffe Keefe, Sr., 96, of Rockford passed away peacefully Sunday, October 29, 2017. Born July 12, 1921, in Fall River, MA, the son of William H. and Elizabeth (Sutcliffe) Keefe.  Married Betty Louise Shepard on June 20, 1943, in Hartford, VT.  Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.  Retired from Barber-Colman Company.  Volunteered at Rockford Memorial Hospital for over 25 years.  Matt enjoyed reading, puzzles, golfing and getting together with his many friends.  Most of all, he was devoted to his wife and family.  Survivors include his son, Matt (Martha Morris) Keefe of Dexter, MI; daughter, Barbara (Mike) Steiner of Minnetonka, MN; and grandsons, Jebediah (Heather Simon) Keefe and Sean (Amanda Allen) Steiner.  Predeceased by his wife.
