Mary Ellen Saxby

Mary Ellen Huckabee-Saxby, 93, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at River Bluff Nursing Home. She was born on Sunday, August 20, 1933, in Hooker, AR, the daughter of Macy and Maisie (Tharp) Smith. She married Oscar Huckabee on June 18, 1953, in Corning, AR. After Oscar passed away, she married Malvin W. Saxby on January 1, 2001, in Loves Park, IL. Member of North Love Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons, Kevin (Debra) Huckabee, Randy Huckabee, and Michael Huckabee; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Bernice Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husbands; parents; daughter, Brenda; son, Oscar Huckabee, Jr.; grandson, Geoff Huckabee; brothers, George, Henry, Earl, and Bill; and sister, Bernita.

Funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2026, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
