Mary Peterson

Mary Jane Peterson, 91, of Rockford passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018.  Born January 6, 1927, (aka, February 6) in Chicago, the daughter of Donald and Nettie E. (Lein) MacCallum.  Graduated from East High School, Class of 1945.  Married Harry “Pepsi” W. Peterson on December 6, 1947, in Rockford.  Employed by Pierce Packaging for many years.  Formerly resided at Luther Center for 10 years, most recently at River Bluff Nursing Home.  She was known as a social butterfly.  Survivors include daughter, Patricia Lewis of Rockford; son, Barry (Lisa) Peterson of Milwaukee, Wis.; grandchildren, Kevin (Jill) Lewis, Joshua (Melanie) Peterson, Nicole (Scott) Beard, Jeremy Peterson, Tammy Lewis and Steve (Melissa) Lewis; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Howe, Morgan, Claire, Kelly and Kristin Lewis, Lily and Jack Cooke, Ella and Penelope Beard; special nieces, Sandra (Roy) Miller, Liz White and Lisa Johnson.  Predeceased by her husband; infant daughter; son, James; son-in-law, Mark Lewis; and sister, Margaret Johnson.

Memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
