Mary M. LaMarca-Paravala, 97, of Rockford, passed away peacefully Monday, September 19, 2016, with her family by her side. Born March 20, 1919, in South Beloit, the daughter of Tony and Mary (Barraco) Bertolino. Attended South Beloit schools. Married Paul LaMarca on June 10, 1944; he passed away January 1974. Married Joseph Paravala on February 16, 1990. Mary loved being with her family. She was an excellent cook. Mary enjoyed baking and the family was often treated to a number of great meals that came from authentic Italian recipes handed down from her mother. Survivors include sons, George (Angela) LaMarca and Tony (Ginny) LaMarca; sister-in-law, Mary Bertolino; grandsons, Tony Jr. (Michelle) LaMarca, Dr. Michael LaMarca; granddaughters, Isabella LaMarca and Marisa LaMarca (Dan) Gremillion; great-granddaughters, Hannah and Emma LaMarca, Vivian and Lauren Gremillion; great-grandson, Carter LaMarca; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; her husbands; and brother, Andrew Bertolino. Special thanks to Mamie Parrino for her kindness to our mother. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016, in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to service time. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., Loves Park.
