Mary Jane Barkdoll, 92, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2023, in her home. Born August 28, 1931, in Sterling, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Florence (Johnson) Moore. She married Kenneth E. Barkdoll on November 28, 1952, in Sterling. Employed as a librarian at the North Suburban Library for more than 20 years. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, camping, and reading. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; sons, Ken Barkdoll, Jr. of Rockford, Tim (Kathy) Barkdoll of Loves Park, IL, Patrick (Pamela) Barkdoll of Pecatonica, IL, and Paul (Hiroko) Barkdoll of Japan; grandchildren, Melissa (Dan Knaggs) Goodrich, Michael (Laxmi) Barkdoll, Ranell Barkdoll, Rebecca (Jeremy) Shiflet, Caitlin Barkdoll, Hayley Barkdoll, Jonathan (Theresa) Barkdoll, Amanda (Daniel) Rappa, Jessica (Michael) McCartney, Christopher Barkdoll, and Jason Barkdoll; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Terry (Kathy) Moore of Cortland, IL; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; granddaughter, Annabelle Barkdoll; brothers, Daniel, Patrick, and Shamus Moore; and sister, Judy Sagona. The family wishes to thank Mercyhealth Hospice for their love and care.

Service at 1 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2023, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from noon to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
