Mary Lee Almberg, 91, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2019, in River Bluff Nursing Home. Born October 26, 1927, in Beloit, WI, the daughter of John and Mary (Schulz) Rhoades. Married Torsten George Almberg on October 23, 1945, in Rockford. Formerly employed by K-Mart. Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church. Mary was a foster parent for several children. Survivors include her sons, Tim (Pam) Almberg, Eddie Almberg and Pat Almberg; daughters, Teri (Mike) Brown, Lori (Bob) Farris, Margi (Joe) Whatley and Kathy Acker; daughter-in-law, Wanda Almberg; adopted daughter, Penny (Everett) Pfile; grandchildren, Jamie Almberg, Aaron Almberg, Nathan (Erin) Almberg, Frank (Becca) Cassaro, Becca Mosher, Christopher (Michele) Wright, Johnthan (Jenny) Wright, Elisabet (Matthew) Volden, Robert Farris, Christi Farris, Amber (David Durando) Whatley, Kelley (Jesse Lopez) Whatley, Jeramie (Theresa) Moore, Katrina (David Carrol) Acker, Travis Acker, Jennifer Almberg, Brittney Bollerud, Eric Almberg, Heather (Phil) Appleby and James Whatley; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Lily, Savannah, Victoria, Torsten, Layne, Brayden, Meredith, Kyle, Mason, Hayden, Aksel, Henrik, Jaxson, Jace, Noah and Alice; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband; sons, Dave and Michael; daughter, Mary; and sister, Joyce Loftus.
