Marlene D. Lamb, 85, of Loves Park passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017. Born February 19, 1931, in Aurora, the daughter of George A. and Elanore (Wilson) Borbey. Married Oliver J. Lamb on March 12, 1948, in Rockford; he predeceased her. Formerly employed by Roma Bakery for 20 years, and recently from Logli’s Supermarket after 22 years, retiring in 2013. Past member of Grace Lutheran Church. Avid flower gardener. She loved ballroom dancing and was never without a camera. Survivors include her children, David (Pam) Lamb of Machesney Park, Gail (John) Faber of Rockford, Patti (Richard) McCullough of Roscoe and Beth Tappan of Huntington, West Virginia; grandchildren, Jason (Samantha) Lamb, Carlene Lawrence, Katie Dillon, Nathan Lamb, Nolan (Hilary) Lamb, Benjamin Tappan and Jerry McCullough; great-grandchildren, Nikolas Lamb, Charlotte Dillon, Alexander Dillon, Cassius Dillon and Trevor Lamb; nephew, Greg (Gail) Johnson; nieces, Cathie Johnson and Debra (Robert) Hall. The family wishes to thank her longtime neighbors, Michael Banks, Donn (June) Smith and Darlene McClean. Also, the family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Sreenivassappa, Dr. Weiss and the nurses and staff at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.
Service at 1 p.m. Monday, February 27, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, February 26, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Diabetes Association.
