Marjadele (Reinig-Davis) Schiele, 88, of Rockton passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018, in Lincolnshire Place. Born March 21, 1930, in Miami, FL, the adopted daughter of David Benjamin and Essie Theora (Chaney) Davis. Attended the Sherwood School for Girls in Chicago and schools in Southern Illinois around Clay City and Flora. Married George Joseph Schiele on September 17, 1948, in Chicago. They lived in the Yacht Harbor Apartments in Chicago, then moved to Park Ridge for 10 years, resided in Barrington for 25 years, then moved to Capron and resided in the Rockford area until her passing. Employed as a secretary by Ingersoll-Rand, Raybestos Manhattan Rubber Company, Kaiser Aluminum Company and AC Spark Plug of General Motors before becoming a legal secretary. Employed as a legal secretary by Peabody, Westbrook, Watson and Stephenson in Chicago. Marjadele owned over 1000 acres of farms in Iowa and had producing oil wells in Southern Illinois. Member of D.A.R. Marjadele had many hobbies including her expert needlework that was exhibited on the North Shore Lake Forest. She enjoyed her water color painting and her most famous hobby, was the showing, breeding and raising West Highland White Terriers for 60 years, owning O ‘The Ridge Kennels. She had some of the top winning Westies in the U.S. Her Ch. Pinmoney Puck was the #1 Westie and #1 Terrier in the U.S. with 12 best in show in the U.S. and 3 B.I.S. in Canada. Her Ch. Jenny Jump up was the all-time all around winning bitch in the world and won twice at Westminster. The first Westie bitch to win there in 28 years and she had 9 best in show. Marjadele judged Westies in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Indianapolis, Louisville and Philadelphia. Photos of Marjadele and her dogs are in the A.K. Nicholas Book on Westies, John Marvin’s and Ruth Ferrit’s books. She also enjoyed her flower gardens. Marjadele was good at architecture and drew up the blue prints for the home she and George had custom built in Barrington. Survivors include sons, Mark (Denise) and Matthew (Carla) Schiele; grandchildren, Tobias Schiele, Hope (Jordan) Benik, Griffin (Heather) Schiele and Graham Schiele; stepsons, Andrew (Becca) Engebretson and Bryan Engebretson. Predeceased by her husband, George on September 13, 1994; son, David Matthew Schiele; parents; birthfather, Louis O. Reinig; and a half-sister.
