Marietta Brown

Marietta Lou Brown, 86, of Machesney Park passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021, in Maple Crest Care Centre, Belvidere.  Born July 3, 1935, in Rochester, MN, the youngest of 10 children to Valentine and Ella Mae (Ranfranz) Smith.  Married David E. Brown on May 7, 1955, in Nashua, Iowa.  Member of Concordia Lutheran Church.  She loved puzzles, reading, playing cards, and baking with her daughters.  Marietta was an old school family-oriented mom who loved being with her family and traveling with her husband.  Survivors include her children, Tim (Amy) Brown, Wendy Pederson, and Nancy (Walter) Adams; grandchildren, Tim (April) Walston, Shane Pederson, Josh Brown, Aaron Brown and Cody Brown; three great-granddaughters; numerous nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her parents; husband; 4 brothers; and 5 sisters.

Service at noon Thursday, December 2, 2021, in Concordia Lutheran Church, 7424 N. 2nd Street, Machesney Park, with visitation from 11 a.m. to service time.  Burial in Argyle Scottish Cemetery.  Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
