Margaret M. Marchini, 95, of Rockford, passed away peacefully, Saturday, June 11, 2016, surrounded by family. Born January 18, 1921, in Rockford, the daughter of Nello and Maria (Piantini) Lazzerini. Married Frank “Noto” Marchini in 1944. Employed by St. James School and former owner of Noto’s Garage. Member of St. James Catholic Church. Margaret enjoyed spending time with family and friends and special visits from her great-grandchildren and great-niece. Survivors include son, Robert (Joyce) Marchini; grandchildren, Michael, Gregory, Kevin, Sara, Megan, Adam and Luke; great-grandchildren, Garrett, Evie, Layni, Max and Olwen; sister, Ann Cross; brother, Fred (Bonnie) Lazzerini; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by husband; sons, Jeffrey and Gregory; and brother, Erminio Lazzerini. Special thanks to Donny Catalina for taking Margaret into his home for the past 10 years; niece, Jackie Russell, for her compassionate, loving care and always being by her side; granddaughter, Megan, for her unconditional love and support throughout her life. Also, thanks to Katherine Montana, who gave her time to care for Margaret during her last illness.
Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Saturday June 18, in St. James Catholic Church, 428 North 2nd Street, Rockford, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to service time. Private burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., Loves Park.
