Margaret Laura Benjamin, 97, of Loves Park passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016. Born December 15, 1918, in Rockford, the daughter of Samuel and Mary (Rossi) Maragia. Graduated from Rockford High School, Class of 1936. She was employed at Western Union for several years and later at Aqua-Aerobic Systems (formerly Solem Machine Co.) for 37 years, first as receptionist then as secretary, retiring in August 1983. Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, garage sales, crossword puzzles and socializing with her many friends and relatives. Survivors include her niece, Pamela McCann; great-niece, Tracy (Pete) Herren; cousins, Carolyn Milani, Geraldine Mitchell and Patricia (James) Masterjohn; as well as many other cousins and special family members in Italy. Predeceased by her parents; sister, Rose; and brother, Louis.

Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11, in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to service time. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., Loves Park.
