Marcus “Marc” Eugene Christal, 68, of Loves Park, IL, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023, surrounded by family in his home. Born October 25, 1954, in Albany, GA, on an air force base, the son of Benjamin E. and Linnie M. (Miles) Christal. Married Coeleen M. Henninger on February 6, 1976, and together they had two daughters. He was employed by Warner Lambert for 23 years.
Marc was a talented musician and song writer. He was a faithful member of Calvary Memorial Church. Marc was a sports lover and die-hard bears fan. He cherished spending time with his family and grandchildren. Marc loved playing in band with his daughter, Jinger. He also enjoyed watching his grandson, Noah, play football while his granddaughter, Nina, cheered. In his free time, he found relaxation working in his yard.
Marc is survived by his wife of 47 years, Coeleen; children, Jessica (Keith Perry), and Jinger (fiancé, Nick Mulcahy) Christal; grandchildren, Noah Scott, Nina Scott, and Miles Mulcahy; mother, Linnie M. Christal; sisters, Diane Davis, Sherry (Royce) Engler, and Regina (Rick) Barton; numerous siblings-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Predeceased by his father, Benjamin E. Christal; brother, George Christal; brother-in-law, Wayne Davis; and niece, Tamara Morgan.
There will be a public celebration of life for family and close friends at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Calvary Memorial Church, 2715 North Alpine Road, Rockford, IL. Marc will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
