Madelyn I. Greensides, 84, of Loves Park, IL, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019. Born February 6, 1935, in White Pigeon, MI, daughter of Howard and Catherine (Friesner) Huff. Madelyn graduated from Constantine High School. She married Richard “Dick” Greensides on August 21, 1955. They relocated to Rockford, IL, in 1958 and became members of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. Madelyn formed many lifelong friendships from church, neighbors and her card club, where she played for 50 years. Madelyn was dedicated to her family and loved the large family get-togethers that have occurred year-round. Her high school cheerleading days prepared her for the unending sports activities of her children and grandchildren. After retiring from Rock River Distributors, she and Dick enjoyed many cruises, joining friends, family, or just themselves, to a variety of international ports. To all who knew Madelyn, they will miss her kindness, her beautiful smile and infectious laugh. Survivors include her husband, Richard; children, Linda (Lewis) Schemel, Douglas (JoAnn) Greensides, Sharon (Gregory) Yates, Steven Greensides and Mary Freeman; 18 grandchildren, Steven, Brian, Jeff, Scott, Candice, Randi, Alyssa, Stephanie, Barbara, Jessica, Stefani, Matthew, Lilia, Michael, Erica, Shaun, Jacob and Madelyn; 18 great-grandchildren with 3 on the way; sister, June Spence; brother, Richard Huff; several nieces and nephews.
