Macky Mccauley, Sr.

June 10, 1958 — June 23, 2019

Macky “Mac” L. McCauley, Sr., 61, of Maricopa, AZ, passed from this world on Sunday, June 23, 2019. Mac was born on June 10, 1958, in Rockford, IL, the son of Melvin D. and Martha M. (LaQue) McCauley. Mac was a 1977 graduate of West High School. He was employed by Exelon Corporation for 35 years, retiring in 2013, at which time he was ready for new adventures. Mac met the love of his life, Darcee, in 1997. They were married on December 12, 1998, in Rockton, IL. When he retired from Exelon, he put into motion his dream of moving to the Northwoods of Wisconsin. In 2014, Mac and Darcee moved to Trego, WI, until 2018, when they decided to try a warmer climate in Maricopa, AZ. Mac was always busy, whether it was helping a friend, cooking a meal, working on a building or improvement project, or learning a new skill. Anyone who knew Mac, knew he loved the Green Bay Packers. But those who really knew Mac knew that first and foremost he held a deep love for his family, followed by his friends, of which there were many. If a helping hand was needed, for anything, Mac was the first person in line to do whatever it was that needed to be done. His heart was bigger than most, and he lived every day to the fullest. Mac is survived by his wife, his best friend and beloved soul mate, Darcee L. McCauley; his children, Macky "Mac" (Angela) McCauley, Jr., of Roscoe, IL, Jamie (Steven) McCauley-¬Broomfield of Fayetteville, NC, Ryan (Ashley) Saddler of Kalamazoo, MI, and Jennifer Hanson of Poplar Grove, IL; 8 grandchildren; sisters, Debra McCauley of Loves Park, IL, and Dolly (Dave) McCauley-Gunderson of South Beloit, IL; and many other family, including aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Mac was predeceased by his parents; and paternal grandparents, Byron and Edna McCauley; and maternal grandparents, Harry and Freda LaQue.

A celebration of Mac's life will be from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, August 10, at the Firehouse Pub, 10670 Main Street, Roscoe, IL. Local arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., of Loves Park.
