Lynn C. Leaich, 79, of Loves Park passed away March 11, 2022, in Alpine Fireside Health Center. Born April 17, 1942, in Belvidere, the son of Wade and Vernona (Johnson) Leaich. Married Alice (Norder) Leaich on July 20, 1962. They lived their married life in Loves Park. Employed as a machinist and engineer for various factories including Woodward Governor, Ingersol, Belvidere Sundstrand, Roger and Clarke, and Bourne and Koch Machine Tool. Lynn’s hobbies included model making, fishing, and camping. He was an accomplished artist, working in acrylics. Lynn and Alice did a lot of traveling and camping in the summer, several cruises, including Alaska, Hawaii, and the Panama Canal. Dancing was another valued past time. In their retirement, they did dog boarding and doggie day care in their home. Each of the dogs had a piece of his heart. Survivors include his wife, Alice; daughter, Gwen (Michael) Stone; grandchildren, Kevin and Rebecca Stone; brother, Crayton (Coleen) Leaich; nephews, Curt, Ben, Tyler, and Doug; and his canine companions from doggie day care, Penny, Normie, Abby, Walter, Jilly, Dexter, Brady and several others. Service at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2022, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
