Lucille Block

Lucille Ida (Born) Block, 98, of Rockford, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. Born August 12, 1918, in Medford, WI, daughter of Richard and Anna (Hurtienne) Born.  Married Carl Block on November 1, 1941.  She worked for and retired from the Rockford Public School District and served as an executive secretary to the superintendent.  She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and was loved by all who knew her, especially her family.  Survivors include her daughters, Barbara (Wade) Simpson and Linda (Rick) Nicholson; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Block; sister, Anita Horst; grandchildren, Jennifer (Terry) McHugh, Traci (Bryan Saladino) Nicholson and Joshua Simpson; great-grandchildren, McKinnon and Piper Murray.  Predeceased by husband, Carl; son, Dick; parents; sister, Dorothy Miller; and brother, Rolland Born.

Service at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 25, in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 600 North Horsman Street, Rockford, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Private burial.  Memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
