Loren Jay Raymer, 66, of Rockford, IL, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024, in his home. Born July 25, 1958, in Rockford, the son of Lester Lee and Elizabeth Louise (Benz) Raymer. Graduated from Harlem High School, Class of 1976. Loren began his employment at Rock Valley Community College on April 11, 1988, as an HVAC Mechanic in the plant operations and maintenance department. In June of 2006, he left his boiler house position and became the FPOM team lead at the Stenstrom Center for Career Education. Loren oversaw several remodel projects and improved the operating systems and conditions at Stenstrom Center, retiring on April 24, 2018. He was an avid motorcycle rider, a gun enthusiast, and loved to tease those he cared about most. Survivors include his siblings, Lynn Porter of Charlotte, NC, Leighton Raymer of Wamego, KS, and Cheryl (Ron) Larsen of Rockford; many nieces and nephews; and former wife, Laura Chennilaro. Predeceased by his parents; son, Ben Raymer; brothers, Daryl and Brian Raymer; and nephew, Patrick Massie.
Memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with memorial visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Cremation rites accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Noah Homes, 12526 Campo Road, Spring Valley, CA 91978.
