Lois Jean Petty, 91, of Machesney Park passed away Thursday, November 26, 2020. Born December 19, 1928, in Unionville, MO, the daughter of Abraham J. and Dollie E. (Harris) Rowland. Married James P. Petty, Sr. on October 19, 1947. Active member of Calvary Memorial Church for over 40 years. She was the ultimate baseball fan, following both professional teams and the Little League teams at the Boys and Girls Club. Lois enjoyed reading romance novels, doing crossword puzzles, quilting with her mother, and putting together jigsaw puzzles with her sister. She also enjoyed doing yard work and taking care of her sycamore tree. Lois was a social butterfly who loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and always had a hug for everyone at church. Survivors include her sons, James (Jacqueline) Petty, Jr., David (Shirley) Petty, and Robert (Cheryl) Petty; daughter, Martha (Mike) McGrew; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Amy) Petty, Sarah Petty, Elizabeth (Lance) Taylor, Evangeline Van Offeren, Timothy Petty, Laticia (Jared) Guffey, Christina (Nigel) Sommer, Nikita Hazer, Kara Drew, Matthew Drew, and Charles Weber; great-grandchildren, Gabriel Petty, Kaelub Petty, Logan Taylor, Sal (Cassidee) Krischke, Tyler Krischke, Allison Guffey, Jenna Guffey, Jared Guffey, Michael Van Offeren, Jillian (Alex) Quigley, Makala Edell, Kason Edell, Jaylynn King, Avianna Battista, Lyllianha Petty and Ahnya Lynn Drake; great-great-grandchildren, Briar-Rose Krishke and Salem Krishke; great-niece, Jennifer Hazelwood; great-nephew, Alan Merchant. Predeceased by her husband; brother, Abraham J. Rowland; granddaughter, Dawn Marie Petty.

Private family services will be held. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. A memorial service will be planned in the future. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Calvary Memorial Church. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., Loves Park.
