Lois Ann McCauley, 85, of Caledonia, IL, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026, in Lincolnshire Place after battling dementia. Born December 10, 1940, in Richland Center, WI, the daughter of Clifford and Ruby (Emschoff) Flamme. Lois graduated from Richland Center High School, Class of 1958, where she was involved in the band. She married Verlin Victor “Vic” McCauley on October 4, 1958, and they made the Rockford area their lifelong home. She was a longtime member of Evans United Methodist Church before joining Court Street Methodist Church. Lois and Vic moved to Machesney Park where they raised their family. Lois worked at Wholesale Vet for some years and eventually retired from Aetna Plywood. She enjoyed dancing, attending conventions for the Member’s Alliance Credit Union with Vic, and meeting with her church circle friends. She enjoyed traveling and especially spending her winters in Arizona living in an RV with Vic where they met many “Snowbird” friends. Vic predeceased her in 2013. In her later years she enjoyed a special friendship with Claude Hull who remained a tremendous support to her for the last nine years. Lois enjoyed spending time with and will be greatly missed by her family. Survivors include her son, Jeff (Krista) McCauley of Loves Park; grandchildren, Ryan McCauley, Brandon (Andrea) McCauley, Brittany (Jake) Schmidt, Nick Lawrence, and Jake Lawrence; great-grandchildren, Ryder, Harrison, Emory, Charlotte, and Ella. Also predeceased by her parents; daughter, Vicki Lawrence; and sisters, Arlene Ewers, Charlene Barnhart, and Jean Olson. Special thanks to Lincolnshire Place and Sanctuary Hospice.
Services at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Court Street United Methodist Church, 215 North Court Street, Rockford, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park, IL. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
