Lisa Gail Bianchi, 62, of Rockford made her final transition over the rainbow Tuesday, October 17, 2017, in her home, after a long courageous battle from metastatic breast cancer. Born June 8, 1955, in Pekin, the daughter of Ray and Eugenia (Flynn) Bianchi. She lived in Pekin with her siblings, before moving to Georgia to attend Atlanta College of Art, earning her bachelor’s degree of Fine Arts in photography. Lisa then moved to Rockford where she worked as a photographer for Car / Truck Magazine. In 2001, she was employed by Lifetouch, retiring in 2017. Married Jami Kathryn Edmonds on December 12, 2012, in Rockford. Active member of the Universalist Unitarian Church, where she volunteered in the religious education program. Lisa had a passion for education and teaching others about nature and photography. Her creative mind and infectious spirit was embraced by the Universalist Unitarian Church community. Lisa had numerous passions in her life and she was always willing to express things in her vision. Her creative mind allowed her to explore her art and her photography with an unbottled passion. Lisa was very athletic and enjoyed playing many different sports. Her interest of all was being out in the solace of nature. When she wasn’t out on an adventure, she just enjoyed being at home with her wife and her pets, Willow, Stacey, Jackson, Keefer and Abigail. Lisa will be remembered for her kind and gentle soul who was so caring and loving to all who knew her. She had an infectious attitude and a resilience to be admired by all. Survivors include her wife, Jami Edmonds; father, Ray Bianchi; brother, Steve (Georgia) Bianchi; sisters, Krista (Bob) Steinke and Gina Abernathy; several nieces and nephews, Craig Bianchi, Cole (Heather) Bianchi and children, Talia and Mira, Trevor (Janel) Steinke and children, Taryn, Adriane (Woodrow) Ware, Domonique (John) Kupersmith, Brandon Abernathy and children Rylan, Garrett and Taydon, Colin Abernathy, Devan (Justin) Abernathy. Predeceased by her mother; grandparents; and twin brother, Lindsay Eugene Bianchi. Special thanks to Agrace Hospice for their loving care.
