Leo V. Mangiaracina, Jr., 72, of Loves Park, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Born on Monday, October 12, 1953, in Rockford, IL, the son of Leo Vito and Mary Jane (Collins) Mangiaracina, Sr. He married Janet I. Walton on July 17, 1976, at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Loves Park, IL. Employed by the City of Rockford for 37 years. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Leo was also a member of Kepotah Sportsman’s Club from 1988 to 2025. He loved fishing, trap shooting and deer hunting. Leo enjoyed his lake house with his family. Family was his priority and always placed first. Survivors include his wife, Janet; daughter, Amber (Ryan) Goodwin; son, Brent (Becky) Mangiaracina; grandchildren, Hunter, Dylan, and Colton Goodwin, Melissa and Hailey Mangiaracina; several nieces and nephews including special niece and nephew, Chuck and Mary. Predeceased by his parents; sisters, Patricia and Rosile; and brothers, Rosario and Joseph.
Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. April 7, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Road, Rockford, IL, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park, IL. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
