Leo Dunkin

Leo R. Dunkin, 78, of Rockford passed away to be with his son, Jeffrey, on Sunday, May 16, 2021.  Born October 23, 1942, in Newport, Arkansas, the son of George and Gurney (Berry) Dunkin.  Veteran of the U.S. Army.  Formerly married Lorrie Wienzierl on September 24, 1982, in Rockford.  Employed by Meyer Material for 27 years, retiring in 2003.  Member of Teamster Local 325.  Leo enjoyed crossword puzzles and fishing.  He was an avid Chicago Bear and Cubs fan.  Survivors include his daughter, Marsha (Bruno) Gotzmer of Incline Village, Nevada; son, Scott Lowe of Jacksonville, Florida; brother, Stanley Dunkin of Tennessee; loving companion, Lorrie Dunkin of Rockford.  Predeceased by his parents; son, Jeffrey Dunkin; sisters, Helen, Linda and Kitty; twin sister, Cleo; brothers, Doug and George.  The family wishes to thank Serenity Hospice & Homes for their loving care and compassion.
