Lee E. Pinson, 95, of Machesney Park, IL, was called to his eternal home on Monday, November 18, 2024. Born January 12, 1929, in Huntingdon, TN, the son of Golis Lee and Lela Mae (Turner) Pinson. Veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army. He married Marcella M. Gorkowski on August 15, 1953, in Rockford, IL. Employed by Barber-Colman Company for 40 years, retiring in 1992. Member of First Baptist Church of Machesney Park. Avid St. Louis Cardinal, Chicago Bear and Bulls fan. Lee loved spending time with family and attending his sons' sporting events. He enjoyed yard work, gardening, and golfing. Survivors include his wife, Marcella; sons, Rick Pinson of Long Beach, CA, and Gary (Adriana Ortiz) Pinson of Sylmar, CA; brother, James Troy (Jean) Pinson. Predeceased by his parents; brothers, Larry (Bobbie) Pinson and Earnest “Red” (Kitty) Pinson; daughter-in-law, Linda Pinson.
Service at 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2024, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 12:30 p.m. to service time. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his name.
