Larry P. Moberg, 64, of Machesney Park, loving dad, grandpa and friend, passed away Friday, February 16, 2018, surrounded by his family. Born December 27, 1953, in Rockford, the son of Ward and Delores (Barickman) Moberg, Sr. Graduated from Harlem High School. Employed by Warner Lambert for 43 years, retiring in 2017. Member of Kepotah Club, where he enjoyed his Saturday wood cutting. Larry loved watching his grandson, Cooper play baseball, fishing and hunting. Avid Chicago Bear fan. He especially enjoyed relaxing at the Moberg Dome, having a beer and taking in the great outdoors. Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer (Rob) Gillette; grandson, Cooper Gillette; granddaughter, Brittyn, and her parents, Jennifer (David) Straube; loving companion, Sheryl Moberg; brother, Ward Moberg, Jr.; sister, Susan (Dwight) Donnewald; canine companion, Range; special group of friends, Lee, Steve, Tim and Gary. Predeceased by parents. The family wishes to thank Dr. Keene, his staff, and the 2nd floor doctors and nurses at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center for their loving care.
Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 21, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday evening in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
