Kevin M. Daughtry, 58, of South Beloit was called home Sunday, December 5, 2021, in SwedishAmerican Hospital. Born March 13, 1963, in Rockford. Graduated from Harlem High School, Class of 1981. Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Married Georgene Tillett on May 16, 1987, in Loves Park. Owned and operated an agency with Landstar for 13 years. Member of Central Christian Church in Beloit, Wis. Kevin was a former football coach with Lincoln Middle School in Rockford. Founder of Harlem Old-Timers Wrestling. He taught at Northern Illinois Judo Club with his wife. Avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Kevin loved computers and music. He was the lead singer for the band The Fabulous Hot Shots and enjoyed jamming with his bandmates. Survivors include his wife, Georgene; son, Josh Daughtry of South Beloit; foster sons, Alan Varboncoeur of Wisconsin and Stephen Hulbert of Tennessee; grandchildren, Malikai Willard of Florida, Amaya Hendricks of Wisconsin, and Cameron Hendricks of Wisconsin; father, Jesse E. (Gail) Daughtry, Jr., of Loves Park; mother- and father-in-law, Lois (George) Tillett of Roscoe; paternal grandfather, Ronald Monroe of Milton, Wisconsin; brother, Jay (Tammy) Daughtry of Nashville, Tennessee; sister, Laurie (Michael) Ozburn of Vicksburg, Mississippi; sister-in-law, Ginger (Angelo) Eterno of South Beloit; many nieces and nephews; and fur babies, Axel and Luke. Predeceased by his mother, Patricia J. (née, Hamm) (Dale) Kamin; brother, David Daughtry; grandmother, Lillian Monroe; and sister-in-law, Diane Daughtry. A Celebration of Life will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 20, 2022, in Hope Church, 5656 Elevator Road, Roscoe, with memorial visitation from 2 p.m. to service time. Cremation rites accorded. Inurnment will be in the spring at Argyle Scottish Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter, Hoo Haven, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
