Kent A. Moberg, 94, formerly of Loves Park, IL, passed away peacefully, at his home, Thursday, December 15, 2016, in Columbia, MO, surrounded by his son and family. He was born on June 25, 1922, in Rockford, IL, and was the son of Lawrence F. and Zelda (Parks) Moberg. Graduated from West High School, Class of 1942. Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. Met the love of his life and married Marcella M. Reiter on June 29, 1946, in Platteville, WI. Employed by Barber-Colman for 35 years, retiring in 1985. Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, Rockford Moose Club and Rockford Eagles. Formerly a director of Civil Defense for Loves Park. Survivors include son, Lyman (Jane) Moberg; granddaughters, Michelle Moberg and Emily (Nate) Mogren; grandsons, Brent Moberg and Ryan Moberg; and 3 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Brad Moberg; and wife, Marcella Moberg. Kent will be remembered for his love to paint, go bowling with friends, feeding the squirrels, and the funny loving man he always was. He will forever and always be in our hearts and souls. Service at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 23, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
