Kenneth John Barkwill

Kenneth “Ken” Barkwill, 87, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Methodist Hospital Metropolitan in San Antonio, TX. Born July 15, 1938, in Chicago, IL, son of Kester Barkwill and Margaret (Sperry) Ahrens. Married Catherine Koziarski on October 3, 1987. Employed by Clinton Electronics. Member of Pine Grove Free Methodist Church. Ken was an avid bowler and golfer, a bicycle enthusiast who rode over the hills and through the woods and enjoyed watching Judge Judy and Yellowstone. Survivors include his daughter, Victoria (Billy) Cheatum; stepdaughter, Lauren Radovich; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Predeceased by his wife, Catherine; parents; and brothers, William Barkwill and Robert Barkwill. Special thanks to Sheretta Hudnall, Jennifer Dimas, Lidia Chagoya, and Methodist Hospital Metropolitan ICU staff for their compassionate care.

Celebration of Life service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2025, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Interment will follow immediately at McHenry County Memorial Park, 11301 Lake Ave., Woodstock, IL. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
