Keith Townsend

Keith L. Townsend, 79, of Machesney Park passed away Friday, May 21, 2021, in his home.  Born January 22, 1942, in Rockford, the son of Franklin and Barbara (Layng) Townsend.  Married Margaret Griffen on June 4, 1966.  Employed by Oscar’s Barbershop as a barber for 30 years.  Member of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church.  Keith enjoyed fishing, water skiing, and also discussing politics and religion.  Avid fan of the Cubs, Packers and Blackhawks, but he enjoyed his grandkids sporting events most of all.  Survivors include his wife, Margaret; son, Brian Townsend; daughter, Brenda (David) McMunn; son, Michael Townsend; grandchildren, Maggie Townsend, Tyler Maney, Jennifer Campbell; great-grandchildren, Aiden Campbell, Korben Campbell, Amaya Day, Leah Maney, Liam Maney, and Luna Eleanor Lynn; sisters, Sandra McAlister and Diana Wilkin.  Predeceased by his parents.

Service at 1 p.m. Friday May 28, 2021, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from noon to service time.  Burial in Argyle Scottish Cemetery.  A memorial will be established.
