Kathleen “Kathy” Lee

Kathleen “Kathy” Lee, 75, of Loves Park, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2026. Born May 3, 1951, the daughter of Gene and Marilyn Taylor, Kathy grew up on her family’s farm and graduated from Harlem High School. She was raised in a close-knit family and remained deeply connected to her family throughout her life.

Kathy married William “Bill” Lee on July 21, 1974, in Caledonia. They shared 42 years of marriage before his passing in 2017 and built a life together centered around their family.

She worked as a secretary at A.W. Anderson Agency and Pekin Insurance before retiring in 2016. Above all, family was at the heart of Kathy’s life. Her greatest joys were her children and grandchildren, and she treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. She also cherished her extended family and the wonderful friends whose companionship brought her happiness throughout the years. Whether gathering for a special occasion or simply enjoying time together, Kathy was happiest surrounded by the people she loved.

She was predeceased by her husband, William “Bill” Lee; and parents, Gene and Marilyn Taylor.

Survivors include her sons, Brian (Carrie) Lee of Rockford and Brad (Jenni) Lee of Grand Rapids, Michigan; grandchildren, Audrey, Amelia, Ava, Isaac, Elinore and Adalynn; brother Tom (Barb) Taylor; sister-in-law, Nancy Cooling; many loving nieces & nephews, cousins, and very dear friends.

Kathy will be remembered for her devotion to family, the friendships she treasured and the tremendous joy she found in being a mother and grandmother. Her family was her world, and the memories and traditions she shared with them will live on through the generations she loved so dearly.

Private interment of ashes will be held at Harlem Cemetery. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at her home; date and time to be announced
