Julia W. Moderhack, 97, of Rockford passed away Monday, July 24, 2017. Born February 21, 1920, in Chicago, the daughter of Dmytro and Maria (Blaszczy) Wodianski. Married Harold K. Moderhack on October 30, 1940, in Skokie. She and Harold owned and operated Harold’s Venetian Blind Laundry for many years. Member of Broadway Business Association and RSVP. Volunteered at Swedish American Hospital. Survivors include her children, Raymond (Joyce) Moderhack, Richard (Sandra) Moderhack and Donna (John Jr.) Peebles; grandchildren, Susan (Jim) Zarembski, Rebecca (Jeff) Roderick, Randall (Ellen) Moderhack, Mark Moderhack, Candice Russell and Doug (Jessica) Peebles; great-grandchildren, Cade Whitaker, Valerie (Mike Schewe) Moderhack, Ian Zarembski, Madeleine Moderhack, Abigail Roderick, Daniel Moderhack, Rogan Russell, Mia Peebles, Jasper Peebles, Liam Gordifdo, Ellie Gordifdo and Julian Gordifdo; great-great-grandchild, River Schewe; many nieces and nephews; good friends, Vi Dent and Jim Stewart. Predeceased by her parents; husband; brother, Peter; sisters, Helen, Stephanie and Marie; and great-granddaughter, Katherine. Service at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
