Joseph “Joe” D. Wadzinski, 83, of Rockford, IL, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at his home. Born on Friday, January 22, 1943, in Dixon, IL, the son of Frank A. and Ruth L. (Smith) Wadzinski. Four-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Retired from Rockford Clutch. Member of the LLL Club and Mendelson Club for many years. Joe was also member of the American Legion Post 12 in Dixon, IL. Avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Joe had a big understanding and a love of technology. He especially enjoyed the joyful moments spent with his grandsons, who brought light and laughter to his life during their visits. Survivors include his daughter, Mary Brechon; grandchildren, Randy Schultz and Aaron (Chaney) Fletcher; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Sue (Brad) Livingston; niece, Barb Livingston; nephew, Aaron (Jenn) Livingston; great-niece, Marlie Livingston; and his beloved cat, Zoey. Predeceased by his parents; son, Frank S. Wadzinski; and great-granddaughter, Ellie Fletcher.

Graveside service at 1 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, in Oakwood Cemetery, Dixon, IL. Visitation from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, in Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
