Joseph Selchow

Joseph Mark Selchow, 53, of Machesney Park passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center.  Born August 6, 1968, in Rockford the son of Gene and Geraldine “Gerry” (Shea) Selchow.  Owned and operated Electrical Services Plus for more than 20 years.  He enjoyed watching hockey, football, collecting memorabilia and going to games.  Joseph dressed up as Santa for hospital visits and family gatherings.  He loved his Harley and had many friends in the local Harley groups.  Joseph loved going on vacation, especially going on cruises.  He was a great cook and Shrimp de Jonghe was his specialty.  Joseph was a handyman extraordinaire always working on projects around the house.  Survivors include his fiancée, Michelle Wallace; children, Kirshna Washburn, Danielle Harden and Cassidee (Salvadore) Krischke; grandchildren, Aurora, Naomi, Briar-Rose, Salem, Freyja, Gavinn, Aubrey and Landon; father, Gene Selchow; siblings, Kelly Ann Detweiler, Jennifer Selchow, Jeff Selchow, Randy Woods, and Dennis Woods; many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his mother; grandparents; and uncle, William Selchow.

Memorial service at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2021, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with memorial visitation from 5 p.m. to service time.  Cremation rites accorded.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
