Joseph Getter

Joseph D. “J.D.” Getter, 66, of Machesney Park passed away Sunday, November 15, 2020, in his home. Born August 29, 1954, in Viroqua, Wisconsin, the son of Walter J. and Doris E. (Lawrence) Getter. Veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a Staff Sargent from 1977 to 1985 where he also worked on radar equipment. He married Lynn M. Hendershott on September 28, 1973. Employed as a C.N.C. Machinist. He enjoyed fishing, bowling on a league with his wife and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Lynn; son, Peter (Kimberly) Getter; daughter, Tonya (Timothy) Williams; grandchildren, Hayley, Jesse, Olivia and Lily; brothers, Robert (Marguerite) Getter, Ray (Gail) Getter and David Getter. Predeceased by his parents; and brother, William Getter.

Memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday, November 20, 2020, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Inurnment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
