John Huene, 93, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023, at Ascension Saint Anne Place. Born January 22, 1930, in Rockford, IL, the son of Ernest and Eva Marie (Einsele) Huene. He married Doris M. (Andrus) Catron on April 27, 1974, in Rockford. Retired from Atwood Vacuum Machine Co. Member of Journey Church and Friends of North Suburban Library where he helped raise money over the years. Avid Chicago Cubs fan. John was a huge fan of John Wayne. Survivors include his children, Susan (Donald) Kidd, Crystal Huene (daughter-in-law), Christine Catron, Janice (Mickey) Holley, Patsy (Marty) Martin, Steven (Jeanne) Catron, Elizabeth (William) Boyle, John (Kim) Huene, and Charles (Merlin) Huene. Predeceased by his parents; wife; and son, Steven Huene.

Memorial service at 4 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Journey Church, 7825 Forest Hills Road, Loves Park, IL. Cremation rites are accorded. Inurnment at a later date in Willwood Burial Park. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
