John Hickey

John P. Hickey, 72, of Rockford passed away Friday, May 14, 2021, in his home.  Born June 22, 1948, in Rockford, the son of William J. and Margaret (Holquist) Hickey.  Graduated from Boylan High School, Class of 1966.  Veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1968 to 1970.  Employed by Joseph Behr for 25 years.  Survivors include his son, Phillip Hickey; mother of his son, Susan Gutierrez; brothers, Joseph Hickey, Thomas Hickey and Patrick (Cheryl) Hickey; five nieces and nephews; and best friend, Joe Cortinez.  Predeceased by his parents; and sister, Kathleen.

Graveside service at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2021, in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 8616 West State Street, Rockford.  Visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
