Joanne E. Kuehne Crumrine, 84, of Rockton passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020, in her home at Highview in the Woodlands. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Born March 8, 1936, in Little Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Fred and Adella “Della” (Buehrer) Besemann. Graduate, Class of 1954, Swanville, MN. She enjoyed playing in High School Band and Stamp Club. As a young girl, she was a member of the 4-H Club. She was an extremely hard worker in life and retired from Concordia Lutheran School. Concordia Lutheran Church in Machesney Park was her spiritual home for over 60 years where she loved singing in the Choir. Member of the Ladies Aid and volunteered her time for whatever was needed. Throughout her life, she enjoyed many hobbies but her greatest joy was baking apple pies for anyone that asked and was a great cook. She was a bird lover and had a huge Cardinal collection. She loved the outdoors with camping, long walks, was an avid gardener, a master seamstress and enjoyed bowling with her friends on the Park Lanes Couples League and Park Bowl Women’s League in Loves Park. Member of Blackhawk Field Archery Club, shot archery and was their primary cook. Married Ralph H. Kuehne on October 23, 1955, in Swanville, MN. Married Lawrence Crumrine on July 27, 1997, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Machesney Park. Survivors include her daughters, Peggy (Robert) Hartsock of Louisville, KY, and Lori (Jack) Leach of Corning, AR; son, Larry (Mindy) Kuehne of Roscoe; 8 grandchildren, Joshua Westadt, Caleb Westadt, Nathan Perrett, Nehemiah Hartsock, Andrew Leach, Aric Leach, Corbin Kuehne and Coltin Kuehne; 7 great-grandchildren, Victoria Perrett, Isabella Perrett, Maddisyn Leach, Mason Hartsock, Lincoln Hartsock, Henry Perrett and Tenley Westadt; sister, Doris Koenig; sister-in-law, Nora Besemann; numerous nieces and nephews; and her pet cat and best buddy, “Charlie”. Predeceased by her parents; both husbands; daughter, Ava Jo Niggemann; brothers, Richard Besemann, Harvey (Marian) Besemann and Cyril Besemann; sister, Helen Unger.
Service at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2020, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from noon to service time. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
