Joan Marie Letsinger

Joan Marie Letsinger, 88, of Loves Park, IL, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, IL. Born November 6, 1933, in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Henry Lewis and Edna Iva (Bruner) Garman. Graduated from Freeport High School, Class of 1951. Married Bobby “Bob” Gene Letsinger, on November 18, 1951, in Rockford. She had a sacrificial love for her children, grandchildren, and family. Joan was a Sunday school teacher, VBS teacher, and a home room mother. An avid seamstress, landscaper, gardener, and carpenter. She enjoyed nature and being a caregiver. Joan loved her special friends and fellowship with them. Survivors include her children, Cheryl (Russ) Lester, Michael (Brenda) Letsinger, Marvin (Lety Mia Sollano) Letsinger, Wendell (Debra) Letsinger, Lucinda (John) Guler, and Bobby (Debbie) Letsinger, Jr.; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents; husband; daughter, Laurie Pierce; brother, David Garman; and sisters, Thelma Scott and Ruth Weeks.

Service at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 3 p.m. to service time. Private burial in Willwood Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
