Jimmie Bryan Davis, 91, of Machesney Park went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, August 7, 2018, in his home. Born June 22, 1927, in Chicago, the only son of the late Basil and Leona (Adams) Davis. He left the farm in Kirksville, MO, at the age of 17 to join the U.S. Navy, during World War II. Jimmie was proud of his service in the Pacific Theater. After his honorable discharge, he moved to the Rockford area. Married Juanita Sharp on June 29, 1951, in Rockton. Employed by National Lock, retiring after 30 years. Member of Windsor Baptist Church for 60 years. He loved golfing and bowling. Survivors include his wife, Juanita; children, Donna (Mark) Simpson and Bryan (Kathleen) Davis; grandchildren, Connor, Meghan, Briana, Jared (Lindsay), and Callie (Mike); 5 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his son, Gary Davis.
Visitation from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, August 12, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Private burial in Kirksville, MO.
